Our Story
Prairie & Cactus was born from two things I love most my daughter and the western lifestyle.
As my daughter began competing in rodeo, I was always searching for western clothing that was unique, stylish, and had just the right amount of flair. I quickly realized that while there were plenty of western shirts available, it was hard to find pieces that truly stood out and reflected her personality. When she decided to run for Miss Illinois Junior High Rodeo Princess, I with my mom and sisters help took a leap and created her very first custom outfit. Watching her wear something made with love and purpose sparked a passion I didn't know I had.
Creativity has always been part of who I am, thanks to my mom. She had an incredible gift for turning ordinary things into something beautiful. Whether it was sewing, decorating, crafting, or dreaming up a new idea, she always believed that adding a personal touch made something truly special. She inspired me to create, and her influence lives on in every piece I design and every collection I curate.
Living between two places I call home, Illinois and Arizona has also shaped the vision behind Prairie & Cactus. The Midwest prairie and the Arizona desert each have their own unique beauty and style. One offers timeless, rustic charm, while the other embraces warm desert tones, turquoise, and Southwestern character. I wanted to create a boutique that brings those two worlds together.

Every dream starts with a simple thought...
"What if?"
For years, my sisters, friends, and I would wander through the vendor booths at rodeos, admiring all the unique clothing, home décor, jewelry, and western treasures. We always found ourselves saying, "We could do this!" or "Wouldn't it be amazing to own a boutique like this someday?"
It wasn't just about selling products, it was about creating a place that inspired others and sharing the western lifestyle we love.
Living in Illinois, I quickly realized how difficult it can be to find unique western and Southwestern clothing, home décor, gifts, and horse-inspired pieces without traveling hundreds of miles or searching online. Yet every time I visited Arizona, I was surrounded by beautiful boutiques filled with exactly the kind of style I wished we had back home.
That dream stayed with me for years.
Prairie & Cactus was created to bridge those two worlds, bringing together the timeless charm of the Midwest prairie and the bold beauty of the Southwest. Our hope is to offer thoughtfully curated pieces that help you express your own style, whether you're headed to the rodeo, decorating your home, shopping for a meaningful gift, or simply embracing the western way of life.
